We created a modern corporate intranet, wAVe, for Anthony Veder, replacing their existing Drupal 7 system with a faster, more engaging, and future-ready solution. The new platform supports over a thousand employees working on shore and at sea.

About Anthony Veder

Anthony Veder is a maritime transport company specialising in the shipment of liquefied gases that are crucial to the global energy and chemical sectors.

Drawing on decades of industry experience, the company ensures the safe and efficient transportation of LNG, and specialised petrochemical gases, including ethylene and propylene.

To better serve its global workforce, many of whom work onboard a ship or live abroad, Anthony Veder needed to upgrade its ageing Drupal 7 corporate intranet. The aim was to create a secure, efficient, and collaborative digital environment for the company's distributed team.

Challenge

Anthony Veder’s existing intranet was approaching end-of-life with Drupal 7’s support coming to a close. The company needed to migrate it to Drupal 10 while maintaining essential features and adding new functionalities for better usability.

The new corporate intranet had to:

  • offer an improved user experience and fresh design,
  • encourage communication and interaction between distributed employees,
  • retain all existing features (such as ship location tracking or document resources) without performance loss,
  • support users working in low-bandwidth environments,
  • enable integration with Okta (an enterprise identity management service) via LDAP for secure login. 

Solution

In order to achieve these goals, we collaborated with Anthony Veder's team to deliver a Drupal 10-based intranet. A key aspect of the project was the careful and structured migration of existing data and content from the Drupal 7 platform. This involved preserving document structures, internal links, and references to external resources, among other things, to ensure continuity and ease of use for employees familiar with the previous system.

  • Drupal 10 as the core CMS,
  • Okta integration via LDAP for secure employee login,
  • a modern, responsive frontend optimized for bandwidth efficiency,

  • interactive components such as likes, comments, and event calendars.

This sleek, safe, and highly functional platform brings together Anthony Veder employees, whether on board ships or working at desks around the world. This built-in tool tracks the current position of company vessels, which is an essential feature for maritime operations.

Employees can easily keep track of company events using the dynamic calendar system, ensuring they never miss an important meeting or gathering.

Users can react to posts, share feedback, and interact with each other, boosting engagement and community spirit.

LDAP login via Okta

The platform integrates seamlessly with the identity management system, ensuring secure and convenient access.

Lunch and visit booking form

A dedicated form allows employees to easily reserve lunches or schedule office visits, helping simplify internal logistics and daily operations.
